Wheel Alignment or tracking is used to ensure that wheels are set to the optimum position as specified by the vehicle’s manufacturer. This ensures that tyres wear evenly thereby maximizing on fuel consumption.
Vehicles that are misaligned pose the following problems
- Excessive tire wear
- Increased fuel consumption caused by increased rolling resistance
- Unsafe vehicle handling characteristics
- Driver fatigue and driver retention
- Premature suspension component wear
NOTE: These problems leads to an increase in overall vehicle maintenance cost
The primary static suspension angles that need to be measured and adjusted are caster, camber, toe and thrust angle.
With the vehicle alignment corrected
- Increase tyre wear
- Reduction in fuel consumption
- Reduction in vehicle maintenance
- Smoother more comfortable driving experience
If any of the problems mentioned above relate to your vehicle, we strongly recommend you have your wheel alignment and steering geometry checked and adjusted accordingly.
We advise checking wheel alignment and steering geometry at least once a year or if the wheels come into contact with any kerbs or potholes. Our highly trained staff can assist and advise the best solution for any steering geometry problems or questions you may have.
